To spread the Giant love, we are organising a number of Giant events across Northern Ireland. These are a flavour of how you can get involved and take part in something Giant.
Watch out for new events in your regular email updates.
Saturday 24 October 2009
Get sponsored now to get your Giant boots on and join us for the Giant Walk.
Join us on a sponsored Giant walk (11 miles) along the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway headland from Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge to the Giant's Causeway on Saturday 24 October 2009. Set off from the car park, where along with a team of wardens and volunteers, you will take in the stunning coast line, whilst helping raise money for a Giant Cause.
For those preferring a shorter walk, a Giant stroll (6 miles) will set off from Dunseverick Castle car park across the headland to the Giant’s Causeway.
And for children, we will be having a Giant mini steps walk (2 miles) from Portballintrae to the Giant’s Causeway (2 miles) so mums and dads and wee small Giants can get involved too.
Please note sensible footwear and outdoor clothing as well as snacks are advisable for these walks.

Saturday 22 August 2009
Thank you to all who joined us across the National Trust on Saturday 22 August 2009 for a Giant Picnic. Many properties across Northern Ireland participated in the Giant day of fun for all the family. We had Giant picnics on the lawns – lots of yummy food and a Giant feast. In total we raised over £1100 for ‘A Giant Cause’ so a Giant thank you to those who came along and supported the event, those who volunteered and staff who gave up their weekend to get involved too.
Watch out for more Giant events or why not organise your own…….

Your donation will really help us achieve something Giant. Every pound given will be spent on the Giant’s Causeway project and will become an investment in the longer term protection and conservation of the World Heritage Site. You can donate now to help us continue to care for this special site. Your donation no matter what amount is Giant to us.
Because of the special nature of the World Heritage Site we need to develop a grass that will encourage wildlife and biodiversity as well as be sturdy enough to weather the many thousands of people who visit, and be strong enough to cope with the tough North Coast weather. £25 will help buy 1/2 sq metre of grass seed to develop the biodiversity grass roof on the new centre.
The paths are an essential part of the Giant’s Causeway experience. They ensure visitors to the site are able to access the wonderful wider Giant’s Causeway on their visit and take in the staggering views and breath taking coastline. £50 will provide maintenance for 16 metres of trail paths, for safe access to the site.
In removing the existing buildings on site and creating an under grass building, we will be able to further encourage species like ‘Lady’s Iris Tresses, a unique orchid only found along the North Coast, to flourish. £100 will help us plant native species reflective of the Giant’s Causeway and encourage growth along the headland once restored.
Please make your donation today, and give what you can.
We all love a Giant excuse to bring friends and family together. A party, a fancy dress, a picnic, a walk, a night at the races, or a treasure hunt.
Now you can be a Giant host and organise something Giant to fundraise for the Giant’s Causeway. From 1 August 2009 you will be able to organise your own Giant event and get your friends to sponsor you online. But that doesn’t stop you planning what you want to do now.
Here are some Giant ideas for your event. Involve family or friends, or to take your Giant idea into work or get your school friends involved. No matter your age, you can always do something Giant, and it’s a great excuse to have fun and raise monies for a really special place.
