Join us on a sponsored Giant walk (11 miles) along the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway headland from Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge to the Giant's Causeway on Saturday 24 October 2009. Set off from the car park, where along with a team of wardens and volunteers, you will take in the stunning coast line, whilst helping raise money for a Giant Cause.

    • This walk will leave at 9.30am (approx 5-6 hours)

For those preferring a shorter walk, a Giant stroll (6 miles) will set off from Dunseverick Castle car park across the headland to the Giant’s Causeway.

    • This walk will leave at 12.30pm (approx 3 hours)

And for children, we will be having a Giant mini steps walk (2 miles) from Portballintrae to the Giant’s Causeway (2 miles) so mums and dads and wee small Giants can get involved too.

    • This walk will leave at 2.00pm (approx 1 hour)

Please note sensible footwear and outdoor clothing as well as snacks are advisable for these walks.

Thank you to all who joined us across the National Trust on Saturday 22 August 2009 for a Giant Picnic. Many properties across Northern Ireland participated in the Giant day of fun for all the family. We had Giant picnics on the lawns – lots of yummy food and a Giant feast. In total we raised over £1100 for ‘A Giant Cause’ so a Giant thank you to those who came along and supported the event, those who volunteered and staff who gave up their weekend to get involved too.

Watch out for more Giant events or why not organise your own…….

Organise a Fundraising Event

We all love a Giant excuse to bring friends and family together. A party, a fancy dress, a picnic, a walk, a night at the races, or a treasure hunt.

Now you can be a Giant host and organise something Giant to fundraise for the Giant’s Causeway. From 1 August 2009 you will be able to organise your own Giant event and get your friends to sponsor you online. But that doesn’t stop you planning what you want to do now.

Giant fundraising ideas – start planning your event now!

Here are some Giant ideas for your event. Involve family or friends, or to take your Giant idea into work or get your school friends involved. No matter your age, you can always do something Giant, and it’s a great excuse to have fun and raise monies for a really special place.
